Our Girl from Our August 2009 Litter

At Murphey’s Rocket Retrievers we aim to breed and raise healthy Golden Retrievers from field and working lineages. Our dogs are bred with competitive and/or working homes in mind. Currently, we compete in AKC and HRC hunt tests and are considering field trial competition for the future. When not training for hunt tests we hunt wild upland (pheasant, chucker, quail and dove) and waterfowl (ducks and geese) game. We also hunt preserve game with our dogs at our favorite private club (Austin Gun Club, Inc.; http://www.austingunclub.com) in the Texas Hill country. Our dogs have competed and hunted on diverse terrain in many parts of the country including timber, open water and ponds and under varied weather conditions including snow and cold rain. Basically, our dogs LOVE THE FIELD! Although our dogs have spent many a day and night in kennels and on hunting trucks we consider them family members. When not in the field they live in the house and travel with us on most non-hunting excursions.
